Disc Jockey Wedding Placement
by Corey Brown on 10/21/15
Hello readers. Recently we entertained at a wedding and got stuck in a corner. I am a member of several other DJ forums and this seems to be an issue in the industry of Professional DJ's. When you are making out your seating charts for any event please consider where you put your professional DJ. The ideal location is directly in front of the dance floor and there are several reasons for this. You never want to put a table of guests between the dance floor and the Disc Jockey simply because the sound can be overwhelming. DJ's are trying to push the sound to the dance floor. Of course if there is someone in the family that you just hate then placing them in front of the DJ is acceptable. Secondly, the dance floor is usually the center of the room and since the DJ is also the Master of Ceremonies (Emcee or "MC") then it stands to reason that he or she should be out in front of the crowd not off to the side. Lastly, if the DJ is right at the edge of the dance floor then the speakers can be placed where the action is and while it is louder at the dance area - people can still talk at the tables but hear what is going on. You can still have your head table in the center if needed, just consider putting the dance floor and the DJ off to the side if you do so. As always we would love to hear your thoughts and comments on this topic. Thanks for Reading. The Wedding DJ & SC Party DJ of Greenville, SC.
